Web Geeks Serving Sonoma County Non-profits

Join us for WIMPgives 2014, the second annual charity hackathon organized by Web & Interactive Media Professionals (or, WIMP). Be amazed as our volunteers build websites for local non-profits in a single day!

What is WIMPgives?

WIMPgives is a public event in which we build websites for local non-profits in a single day. Last year 16 WIMP’s volunteered forming five build teams to create websites for the following North Bay non-profits:

Who can attend WIMPgives?

While the center of the event is the hackathon, we encourage the public to attend. WIMPgives is an opportunity for the non-profit community to network with each other and with the digital media professionals that comprise WIMP.

It’s also an opportunity for local business owners to meet the designers, developers, marketers, photographers, and videographers that live in their backyard.

How can I help?

No matter your skillset, we could use your help. Last year WIMPgives took 25 volunteers to put on, including the 16 build team members. If you’re a seasoned WIMP and can commit to the dates of the event, we want your help building the non-profit’s websites.

If you’re a student, we’ll enlist your help as crew but we’ll also pair you up with a build team. This way you will build industry connections and get a first person perspective on the build process.

Friend, family, or fan of WIMP? We appreciate your help too!

What is WIMP?

Web & Interactive Media Professionals is a trade group of digital media pros based out of Sonoma County, California.

Our group represents over 400 local designers, developers, marketers, writers, photographers, videographers, and anyone else that has a hand in digital media. We have over 700 members worldwide.

We swap stories, trade tools, collaborate, and learn online and offline. We do a lunch and a topical meetup every month, WIMPshops on occasion, and do special events like WIMPgives and WIMPcamp on an annual or semi-annual basis.
